Some Christians spend a great deal of time defending creation and the flood, but ignore that the entire Bible is saturated with Bronze and Iron Age ideas about how the world works. Our assumptions about the Bible need to get in line with what the Bible actually says, and what it actually is, not what we want it to be. And that begins by recognizing that God spoke to people in context.
