Translations are a good thing, but because they are as concerned with preventing misinterpretations as they are with creating readable, accurate translations, some of the rougher edges of the Bible get smoothed off or updated. In general this is a helpful thing, but we do need to recognize that there are indeed rough edges and nuances we are missing.
